Dance Spotlight

National Dance Week is April 26 to May 5

For the 4rd year running, Hubbard Hall is proud to once again be a Regional Delegate Site for National Dance Week, April 26 to May 5, 2013. National Dance Week celebrates the art of dance in all its forms and promotes fun fitness

Great Dance Gear Swap
Our dance students will be hosting a sale of gently used dance shoes, leotards, costumes, dance books, dance toys and related dance gear.  Drop off items in the studio between April 23-May 1 (please label box/bag/item with your name and phone number).  Then come to the studio on Friday, May 3 between 3pm-7pm for the swap!  For each item you donate, you'll get a coupon for $1-$3 off the purchase of a new item at the swap. Everything will be at yard-sale prices, so even if you don't have items to donate, come and shop for great stuff! All proceeds benefit the dance program costume & equipment fund.

Hubbard Hall classes start a new term in September, February and July.  There are NO REGISTRATION FEES.  Memberships are recommended -- for $25 get a full year of benefits, including discounts on class tuition!  Most classes accept new students joining during the term -- try a class for just $5!  Please call to be sure the class you plan to attend is happening and is accepting First for Five participants.

Work-Study Scholarship Program

Hubbard Hall is committed to making the arts accessible to all.  We have an active work-study scholarship program where students in our dance, movement arts, music, theater and visual arts programs can volunteer time in a variety of ways in exchange for partial-tuition or full-tuition support for classes, workshops and intensives. Work-Study Scholars (or their parents) help with a variety of tasks, from class registration to building maintenance, from sewing costumes to outreach & marketing.

Scholarship Requests are granted for each term term of study, and priority is given to applications received by the deadline.   Please apply no later than February 1 to be considered for the Spring session.  A member of our Scholarship Committee will contact you regarding volunteer opportunities in exchange for tuition assistance. Complete a scholarship application online or call for more information.

New Registration & Payment Options!

Monthly Automatic credit card payments: We're easy on your budget! With the convenience of spreading your term tuition over a period of months, each charge will automatically appear on your credit card statement on a monthly basis. No credit or debit card? Submit five post-dated checks instead. Call the Program Office for details: 518-677-2495. Summer hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8am to 12 noon.

Full Term (trimester) Tuition: You asked and we listened! Simplify enrollment with fewer terms per year (Fall, Spring, Summer).  Save $$$ (over the monthly rate) in addition to your Member Discount!

Single Classes:  After you've tried your first class for $5, you'll save the most by registering for the class (term or monthly).  But if you prefer to pay singles, you can do that too!  Most single one-hour classes are $13 at the door; most single 1.5-hour classes are $19 at the door (master classes and special workshops may be priced differently).  Save by purchasing a 10-hour Class Card that you can now use in all regularly scheduled Yoga and Tai Ji classes as well as some other participating classes.

Joining later in the term? To help students balance their regular classes with the demands of seasonal sports & community theater schedules, we are offering a 10% discount off the single class rate when you sign up by mid-term (anytime before the 10th week of class) and pay for the number of singles remaining in the term.

New Class Card for Participating Classes

For those of you who prefer to pay for single classes-- now you can save too! New Hourly Class Cards -- Now accepted in ALL yoga and tai ji classes and other participating classes. Pay for 10 hours of instruction and get the 11th hour free. Class card details >>

 General Program Policies 2012-2013

Makeup Classes -- Our term rate is priced so that you'll save even if you miss 1-2 classes during the term. But you can use your make-ups by either (a) bringing a friend to class to use your makeup or (b) dropping in to any other comparable class during the current term (Yes, you may have a friend or family use your makeup).

Cancellations and Refunds -- Each class requires a minimum enrollment or runs the risk of being canceled.  Please register for your classes in advance so we know there is sufficient interest for the class to run.  In the event that a Hubbard Hall cancels a class, all enrolled students will receive a full refund.

Withdrawing from a Class -- All requests for withdrawals or refunds must be made in writing to the Program Office. If you withdraw from a class before the first class meeting your full tuition will be refunded.  After the first class meeting, we will be glad to issue a credit for the value of the remaining classes in the term (minus the single drop-in rate for classes that have already taken place).  Autopay participants make a commitment to the entire term; early withdrawal requests must be made in writing 30 days in advance and will be charged a $10 processing fee.

Weather Cancellations -- Hubbard Hall follows the weather delays and cancellations of Cambridge Central School during school days, and at the discretion of the instructor on weekends/holidays.  For afternoon/evening classes, occasionally weather conditions improve to allow classes to resume.  Be sure to follow Hubbard Hall on Facebook or check the "News" section of our website for the latest announcements.  Speak to your instructor about rescheduled class dates.  We have set aside a week in late January to accommodate rescheduled classes. As always, you may also make up missed classes by dropping into another class during the term (see Makeup Classes above for more information).
