In this talk with slideshow, Smith describes the restoration of a matched pair of 1926 racing sailboats called the Sound Inter Club that are historic to Long Island Sound and Lake George. A 2-year project requiring the participation of dozens of artisans from across New England, this historic boat restoration truly exemplifies the "it takes a village" proverb. |

It is thorough method of teaching that pays careful attention to the laws of anatomy and develops all the qualities essential to the dancer: balance, strength, elasticity, and poise. Emphasis is on the development of musicality and quality of movement. Erika Schmidt is a certified instructor of the Cecchetti method through the advanced level and a member of the Cecchetti Council of America.
